Walter Chadwick Noyes (August 8, 1865, Lyme, Connecticut - June 12, 1926, New York City) was a judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
==Biography==
Noyes graduated Cornell University in 1888 and then read law for admission to the Connecticut bar. He worked as a lawyer in private practice in New London, Connecticut. Noyes served as a judge of the Connecticut Court of Common Pleas from 1895 to 1907.
In 1907, President Theodore Roosevelt selected Noyes as a recess appointment on September 18, 1907, to a seat vacated by William Kneeland Townsend. He was formally nominated on December 3, 1907, and confirmed by the United States Senate on December 10, 1907. Noyes served on the court for just five and one-half years, from December 1907 to June 1913, before resigning and returning to private practice in New York City from 1913 until his death in 1926.
